The Women’s Freestyle wrestling section of the Olympic Games in Paris begins August 5th with 68kg and features three current World Champions in the same weight class. Current World Champion at 68kg is Buse Tosun of Turkey. Joining her in Paris are the World Champions in the weight classes on either side. Nonoka Ozaki (Japan) moves up from 65kg, while Amit Elor (USA) joins the party from 72kg.
Both Ozaki and Elor have achieved the “grand slam” of world age-group titles. Both achieved gold competing on the U17, U20, U23 and senior levels before their 20th birthdays. Despite these honors neither will be seeded, and the luck of the draw will go a long way in determining the eventual medalists.
