Olympic Champion, Steveson Returns for More Action

Back for one more bite. Wrestling Superstar, Olympic Gold Medalist, and fan favorite, Gable Steveson, recently registered to compete at the April US Open in Las Vegas. Representing the Gopher Wrestling Club (Minn), Steveson will compete in Men’s Freestyle at 125kg, as he looks to qualify for a spot at the World Team Trials Final X event. Winners of the 2023 Senior US Open Tournament automatically earn a spot in the finals of the June Final X event. Winning the best two of three bouts at Final X earns a place on the World Team. The 2023 World Championships are the first opportunity for countries to qualify weight classes for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
Steveson, a two-time NCAA Division 1 Champion and 2X Hodge Trophy winner, cemented his name in US Olympic history with an incredible finals match versus three-time world champion, Geno Petriashvili of Georgia, at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
