Raney Shines at U17 Worlds in Greco-Roman

Kentucky native Jordyn Raney garnered the attention of the wrestling world with a great opening session at the UWW U17 World Championships in Turkey. Wrestling Greco-Roman for Team USA, Raney’s third win of the day was the biggest of his young career. In his quarter final match Raney defeated 2022 U17 World Champion Aytjan Khalmakhanov of Uzbekistan 9-7, to advance to the semi-finals where he will meet Mohammadreza GHOLAMI (IRI). Gholami’s most recent crown came at the 2023 Asian Championships, taking the Gold Medal at 55kg in the U17 division in Greco.
